These pages are constantly under development and we would appreciate your feedback. The site contains a large number of pages illustrated with photographs of the old parts of Deal, Dover, Sandwich and the surrounding villages. More pages are being added as we get the material and the time to develop it.
If there is any specific place in East Kent that you would like to see pictures of, please let us know and we will try to add it to the site.
We are also happy to accept pictures and stories for inclusion on the site from anyone who would like to make a contribution. We will credit all contributions unless asked not to do so. We ask only that the material is not subject to copyright (e.g. professional photographs) and that the pictures are scanned at a resolution of at least 300 dpi (jpeg format please).
NOTE: Due to the number of photographs on these pages, they may take a long time to load with slow modems. We have tried to keep loading time under 60 seconds at 28.8k
To reduce the loading time on some pages, we have slightly reduced the quality of the images. Please let us know if you think the quality is below standard.
However, if you are interested in Deal and Dover, we think the pictures are worth waiting for. If you want to speed up loading of the pages, switch off the "show pictures" option on your browser before loading the pages; you will then be able to select the pictures you want to see by right-clicking the mouse over the picture icon and selecting "show picture" from the pop-up menu.
These pages have been designed to work with any browser. If you experience any problems with viewing the pages, please let us know.
